      <description><![CDATA[Once a year the sleepy beach town of San Felipe is awoken by the sounds of chase crews, pre-runner vehicles and race machines tearing around the streets and nearby desert in preparation for the season opener of the SCORE Baja series. The town may be a destination for those seeking relaxation and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the American way of life, but the race itself offers nothing of the sort. The terrain is brutal. The course features more whoops than most racers would care to hit in a lifetime and embedded rocks blending in so well with the dirt that it makes racing feel a bit like a game of Russian roulette. Maintaining focus over such unreadable terrain is of the utmost importance as the slightest mistake could end your race. Couple the mental test with the physicality of the course and the speeds required to compete and it can be argued that the San Felipe 250 is one of the toughest off road races in the world.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Motocross Action: Why is L.A. Sleeve spending marketing budget on a pro purse for the Two-Stroke World Championship Series?</strong><br>
Mark Kalpakoff: [Smiling] This industry is one of the richest, well doing industries in the world. My paycheck pays for my jet, the blow dryer for my poodles at home, and we thought that to make even more money we could get back into the two-stroke extravaganza [laughter].</p>

<p><strong>Okay, in all seriousness, what's the reasoning?</strong><br>
With L.A. Sleeve's history through the 1980s and 1990s, especially in sponsoring Jeremy McGrath, was all about two-strokes. We talked about getting with a promoter to have a two-stroke series. Glen Helen had talked about doing a two-stroke race, and this was back in 2007. We had a nice discussion with Glen Helen, and we thought that we should support the idea. L.A. Sleeve's biggest business has been two-strokes, and I believe that the future will be two-strokes.</p>]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[The second round of WORCS has rolled in to Primm for the last few years and has become a fan favorite as the adjacent desert makes for a sandy, fast and flowing racecourse. It also doesn't hurt that the Buffalo Bill's casino is right next door allowing for quick access to restaurants, shopping and (if you're not afraid of freezing your buns off) the Buffalo Bill's rollercoaster. A little rain fell Friday night to aid the track conditions and, come Sunday morning, the course was nearly perfect and all of the Pro and Pro2 riders were eager to get out on track, adjust the throttle to maximum and get a little squirrelly in the sand.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[From wicked washes, each littered with rocks just waiting to end your day in an instant, to deep sand whoops draining precious energy lap after lap, the opening round of the 2013 WORCS series was every bit an "off road" event.  The common phrase used through the pits the entire weekend seemed to be, "man that was sketchy!" as seemingly half of the course was covered with imbedded or loose rocks, which made attacking sections with speed a "do so at your own risk" proposition.  But it's that same heart in mouth sensation that made this course so fun: when you hit a section faster than you previously thought possible (and pulled it off) the rush of adrenaline was unmatched.  The pro race was definitely going to lend itself to the toughest and grittiest athletes and whether you were up front or mid pack, the biggest battle was going to be between you and the unforgiving terrain.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[With the "end of the world" prophecy coming up short and the earth still spinning on its proper axis, we have another year of racing to look forward to and I decided to start it off by teaming with David Pearson at the Best In The Desert Parker 250.  The three-loop, 240 mile race has become a classic way to kick off the new year as the terrain offers a mix of smooth, fifth gear roads and technical, slow-speed rocks, challenging two seemingly opposite ends of the off road spectrum.  Adding yet another variable to the race this year was the "Canadian Cold Front", which somehow found its way down to the deserts of Arizona and would offer below freezing temperatures for all involved; time to put on the parka and go racing.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[After such a successful run in Baja, the Bobcat (my dad) and I had some celebratory Carbone’s tacos, loaded up the van and took off for the states.  Getting home at one thirty in the morning and having to wake up at five, I kept joking with my dad, “Whose idea was it to do this?” but after just a couple laps of unclassified I was very happy with the decision as the SoCal motorcycle club laid out a fantastic course, winding around the hills of The Ranch.  The racecourse was an entertaining mix of the motocross track, the signature rock section and the fast, flowing trails out in the hills making for a very enjoyable track.  After having some fun in unclassified, it was time to line up for the first expert race.]]></description>
